Publishing open access makes your work immediately and permanently available online for everyone, worldwide. ISCI is pleased to offer a variety of open access options for our authors to publish their research.
No matter which option you choose, all open access publications are subject to high-quality peer review, editorial and production processes. You retain copyright and can easily comply with open access mandates.
ISCIOpen books charge a publication fee at the beginning of the publication process. This fee varies depending on the number of pages per book.
Benefits for authors
Freely available online
ISCIOpen books are freely and immediately available online upon publication and are clearly labeled as ‘open access’. They are accessible to anyone worldwide, which ensures distribution to the widest possible audience.
In addition to ISCILink, ISCIOpen books are also automatically included in ISCI’s eBook Collections at no additional charge to ensure maximum distribution.
Authors retain copyright
ISCIOpen books are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY) license, so they can be reused and redistributed as long as the original author is attributed. Other Creative Commons licenses may be available on request.
All book types accepted
ISCIOpen accepts complete monographs, edited volumes, proceedings, and ISCIBriefs.
Available in different formats
The open access eBook is freely available online and accessible to anyone with an internet connection at any time. In addition to this free electronic version, a print edition is offered for those who still wish to buy a printed book. The open access eBook is automatically included in ISCI’s eBook Collections at no additional cost. For patrons whose library offers the respective eBook Collection, the printed book is therefore exclusively available as a MyCopy softcover edition.
High quality standards
ISCIOpen books are subject to the same high level peer-review, production and publishing processes followed by traditional ISCI books.
